How To Express Love
Not everyone has the same ideas on How to Express Love. Some people aren’t very verbal, and express their love by giving gifts. Some people prefer to hear their partner Say I Love You. Others prefer to show their love physically. It doesn’t matter how you express your love, as long as you express it often, and in a way that your partner appreciates and understands. It’s no good if your way of showing someone you love them is too subtle for them to pick up on. That may just leave them feeling disappointed that their love is not returned. Make sure that when you show your love, you do it in a way that is special, caring, romantic, but also in a way that your partner will really connect with.
Let me share a Love Quote from the master himself:
“They do not love that do not show their love.”
- William Shakespeare
There are infinite ways to show your love to the person you adore, and the following list of 10 ways is just a few of them. Try some out, and even add to them if you want to!
1. Say I Love You. It’s a classic, but it never goes out of style.
2. Buy them flowers for no reason at all.
3. Bring them breakfast in bed.
4. Make them a candle lit dinner. When was the last time you did that?
5. Say it in another language. French is always popular: Je t’aime
6. Make eye contact. It creates and almost tangible connection between two lovers, and should never be underestimated.
7. Write them a love letter, and leave it on their pillow. (There are some examples in the Love Letters section)
8. Write them a poem or love note. (Ditto for examples in the Love Poems and Love Notes sections)
9. Take them away for the weekend, and tell them while you are somewhere romantic.
10. Do it as often as you can.
The truth is that it doesn’t really matter how you express your love, as long as you do express it. Let your partner know how important they are to you, how much the relationship means to you, and how happy it makes you to be together. Show them how much you appreciate them, and how lucky you feel to have such an amazing, beautiful, and wonderful person in your life.
In the words of T.S. Eliot:
“I like not only to be loved,
But to be told I am loved.”
