How To Say I Love You

Deciding How to say I Love You can sometimes be a challenge. You often don’t want to say it too soon, for fear of scaring your boyfriend or girlfriend off. You also don’t want to keep that feeling of love bottled up inside, because love is a wonderful emotion that should be shared. Before we go through few things that might help you decide how to say I love you, here is a love quote:

“I love you – those three words have my life in them.”

- Alexandrea

1. You should decide if you definitely love your partner. Make sure that it isn’t merely a physical attraction you share. You should have no doubt in your mind that the words you are saying are the absolute truth. Once you say, “I love you” you don’t want to have to take it back later on!

2. Be willing to accept that your lover might not be able to respond the same way. We all hope that after we reveal our love, our partner will say, “I love you too!” whereupon we fall into a passionate and romantic embrace. Alas, it doesn’t always happen that way. Be prepared to handle you partner replying with “Awww. . .  that’s nice”, or even “I love you. .um . . saying that!”. If such a result seems unbearable, consider waiting until you are sure that your lover feels the same way. If you want to say it anyway, and you don’t need to hear your lover say it back to you, then go for it.

3. If you are a spontaneous person, you can say it whenever you feel the time is right. Follow your heart. If you want to give it a bit more planning, that’s fine too. It’s a special moment, and it should happen in whichever way you feel most comfortable with. You can even write down the way you want it to happen, if that helps get it clear in your mind.

4. If you decide to tell them in person (the most traditional way), make sure you hold them close and say the words while looking into your lover’s eyes. That closeness will help to make the moment more intimate and memorable . . . It also makes it easier to kiss them right afterwards!

Here are a few other ways that you could let your lover know how you feel:

Draw hearts on their driveway with pink chalk.

Say, “I want a lifetime with you”

Cut out 100 paper hearts. Tape them all over their bedroom.

Say, “You cast a spell on me that can’t be broken.”

Write a note that reads, “You are my one true love.”

Say, “I’m devoted to you.”

Bring your love a single red rose.

Say, “You make my heart skip a beat.”

Give them a CD of their favorite love songs.

Say, “You are my world.”

Write, “I love you” in the sand at the beach.

Say, “You are my heart’s desire.”

Make a silly love card with a funny love quote in it.

Say, “You are a dream come true.”

Tell them while you are snuggled up on the couch watching a romantic movie.

Say, “You’re the best thing that has ever happened to me.”

Tell them over a romantic candle-lit dinner.

Say, “You rock my world.”

Write “I Love You” on the mirror in lipstick. (This doesn’t work if you’re a man!)

Say, “You stole my heart away.”

Make a banner proclaiming your love, and hang it along their drive to work.

Say, “You are my reason for living.”

Cut out a paper heart and leave it on their pillow.

Say, “You make my world a better place.”

Tell them over a picnic in the park.

Say, “You’re my angel.”

Fill your lover’s bedroom with heart-shaped balloons.

Say, “You are my one and only.”

Tell them while you share a walk along a beach.

Say, “You fill my heart with joy.”

Send them their favorite flowers.

Say, “You are everything I have ever wanted.”

Tell them while hugging them (this stops them running away too!)

Say, “You are my candle, burning bright.”

Yell “I Love You!” from a rooftop.

Say, “You set my heart on fire.”
